Let’s get spooky! Fun Halloween printable
Let’s Get Spooky!
Let’s get spooky! It’s that time of year again, when goblins, ghouls, and ghosts roam free, when the veil is thin between this world and the next, allowing all things creepy and crawly to emerge and scare the bejeebies out of us!
It’s all in Spooky Fun
There are lots of spooky superstitions and traditions for Halloween. Superstitions stem mainly from fear, and while many may seem silly now it was actually a way to cope with the unknown.
Some of my favorite superstitions are:
- If a candle blows out during a ceremony, it’s because there are evil spirits nearby (you might try closing the window)
- If you knot a handkerchief on Halloween, it will ward off evil. (Maybe it’s best to do this before the aforementioned ceremony)
- Hold your breath as you pass by a cemetery to avoid picking up a ghostly traveler.
- Don’t point at a grave or your finger will fall off (and especially while holding your breath)
- A person born on Halloween can talk to ghostly spirits. (maybe they can find out from grandpa where he left the will)
- A black cat meowing on your porch or window means that death in the family will soon follow (if this were true, I’d have no family left. My black kitty is constantly talking to me)
- You’ll have seven years of bad luck if you kill a black cat on Halloween (and it would be well deserved)
- And finally, if you see a ghost, walk around it nine times and it will disappear (It really takes 9 times?)
