Let me overthink this! Fun new Sassy Series free printable

Have you ever had a big idea, and then it didn’t turn out like you’d envisioned? Yeah, that’s happened to me more often than I’d like to admit. Somehow, when the vision in my mind’s eye doesn’t turn out like I expect, I end up disappointed or overly critical of the result.

In the case of my initial Sassy series printable, I had a plan for the overall look of the series, but the first one just fell flat to me. It’s not that the art isn’t pretty, because I still think it is. It’s just that it didn’t really live up to my expectations. Not sure exactly what those expectations were, but what turned out just … wasn’t it.

So I fiddled with what I’d planned for the next printable in the series. And fussed some more. And then some more. Frustrated, I set it aside and moved on.

In the meantime

In the meantime, I’m watching emerging design trends, and abstract minimalism is really trending right now. I love the soft, dusty colors, the abstract designs and simplified shapes.

And then one morning it hit me. I was really overthinking this whole Sassy series, wasn’t I? I wanted it to be different, and isn’t the point to try something new? Yes and Yes! And, voila! Just like that, a fresh style for this series was born. After all the overthinking, the answer was KISS (keep it simple silly). I hope you enjoy the newest installment (and fun new direction) of my Sassy series!

There are a few different sources for the art on this printable. The abstract shapes are from the Botanical Abstract bundle by the talented BillberryCreate, and you can find it here. I also used artwork from the Abstract Flowers bundle by Happy Letters, available here. And the fun lettering is from a bundle from Bailey and Ginger, which you can pick up here.
