Happy Thanksgiving and a new free printable!

Happy Thanksgiving!

It’s that time of year! Once again we celebrate family togetherness with overeating and too many expectations 🙂 I kid, but only kinda. I think we put too many expectations on our holiday celebrations. We want the house to be spotless and the table to be beautiful and the food to be perfect and the children well behaved and the turkey to be moist and everyone to just get along, for crimeny sakes!

We just expect too much. I read recently that expectations are pre-meditated resentment, and I loved that so much. Creating unrealistic expectations will more likely to lead to disappointment.

Let’s Be Grateful

How about this year, we just be grateful and enjoy the holiday? Grateful if we have a kitchen to cook in. Grateful if food is on the table. And especially, grateful if we have someone to share that meal with. Your meal doesn’t have to be fancy, although if that’s your jam, spread it on thick (I know, so punny!) Just breathe in the moment and be happy. This year, I’m going to do my best to be happy with what I have, right now. I’m going to practice gratitude and see if it makes a difference in the hurry, scurry coming and going of the holidays this year.
