The Earth Laughs in Flowers – Free Printable!
The Earth Laughs in Flowers
Today I’m sharing another flower post and printable, and why not? It is, after all, the season of flowers. Everything green and growing is awake and blooming. The smell of the Earth is in the air and our spirits lift as the days lengthen and we acclimate to the season. What a wonderful time of year! I want to take full advantage of this season and enjoy these special spring days that sit just on the cusp of summer.
Does Mother Earth have a favorite flower?
While I don’t think mother nature has a specific favorite, if you live in suburbia you might answer that nature’s favorite flower is the Dandelion. They seem to crop up in any lawn or green space that isn’t treated. It’s a pity we don’t like those pretty little daisy-like bursts of yellow a little better. They’re a bright, cheerful color, don’t need much water, and really are good for us. Many wildflowers are considered weeds, but really, a weed is just a flower where you don’t want it. Monarch butterflies need Milkweed, Chicory grows by the road but is actually edible, and who doesn’t love Sunflowers?
A Happy Flower Quote
I chose this quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson partly because his writing has always inspired me, and partly because it makes me happy to think our Earth would share a smile with us in beautiful flowers. She speaks a language we can understand, if we just stop for a moment and use our senses.
